GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT STUDENTS TROUBLE DURING FIRST YEAR

There are some general information about students trouble during their first year. Students will face some common problems during the first year in their University life. These can be related to students school life, personal life, and social life.

First and foremost, time management is a student’s trouble during their first year in University. Students never knew how much they were spoon fed back in high school. Most of the student details, submission of exam, submission of homework, and everything else were done by the teacher. As a University student, they are always bogged down with assignments, tests, quizzes, friend outing, movies, Facebook, and many more. Sometimes at the crossroads of a deadline, they find themselves struggling to submit their assignment right on the dot or maybe they could not finish their last chapter before the exam. They wonder what they have been doing throughout the semester that they ended up so rushed. Students have to manage their time by themselves. Besides that, students have to print out the lecture note using the LMS before class. Therefore, time management is one of the problem that faced by the students during the first year in their University life.

Secondly, the student’s trouble during the first year is being independent. Students should have realized that they must be independent, living on their own and manage their pocket money as well, strike a balance between debit and credit, self-discipline is highly encouraged .They have to attend all lectures and contribute to the discussion in class. They have to always work the extra mile for their own revision. Students should have realized that the surrounding in university and high school is very much different .They no longer depend on parents. For example, students have to wake up early in the morning to go to university by themselves. They have to prepare the food and everything else by themselves. They have to deal with homesickness especially for the international students, and also local students from different states. Some of the students may not be able to go home often as travelling could be costly and time-consuming. They have to start a new life, new environment and meet new friends as well. The best time for cultural exchange is with friends from different backgrounds, to expand their social circle. Therefore, independence is one of the students trouble during the first year.

On the other hand, securing ourselves and self-help will be the students’ trouble during the first year. Students have to know that they must always walk on the opposite direction of the moving vehicles. Besides that, students also must always be alert when they have done any transactions at the bank. Students must be extra careful with their handbags or laptop bags while walking along the roads to prevent snatch theft from occurring. Students should also be careful with who they associate with. All colleges have groups of over-competitive students, who will do whatever it takes to get ahead. You may find yourself in bad situations because of people who have no problem being dishonest or hurting you for their own gain, so always be on the lookout for selfish behavior. Therefore, securing ourselves and self-help will be the students’ trouble during the first year.

Last but not least, life was different when we were teenagers in school especially now that we are undergraduates or better known as university students during the first year. Back then, a school student’s everyday life was somewhat a daily routine that repeats from Monday to Friday. The lifestyle of a university student during the first year is a little bit more complex because students have to juggle their classes, assignments, tests, exams, and other extracurricular activities into their daily routines including doing their own laundry, cooking their meals as well as doing some house chores.

In conclusion, it is important to rectify the problem during the first year in university. This is because becoming a university student while dealing with a lot of issues have helped them learn to be more independent, mature and responsible during the first year.

THE PROBLEMS OF MEMBERS WHEN WE ARE IN THE FIRST YEAR OF UNIVERSITY

We realized that the first year in university wasn’t as easy as we thought. There are so many things that we need to find out by ourselves throughout the year.

For example , we realized that we need to ask our teacher or friends immediately when we do not understand in the studies. If we do not do that way , we may failed in the final and the worst part comes to , we probably need to retake the subject for the next semester.

Besides that , we should learn to be independent and self discipline . We never actually contemplated whether the submissions for exams were verified and completely approved or even thought about managing  our very own timetable and choosing subjects  all by ourselves.

Other than that , we didn’t realized our classmate are all came from many other different faculty .We need to be open to meeting people , able to socialize .

As we know , being newbies in university will end up facing many various problems . We experienced the feeling of being a freshmen , that’s the main reason we are creating Help Everyone In U Club (HEI U) to help the other freshmen in university.

We had done some survey on few specific problems that new students usually face during the first year in university . Table below shows the result of our survey.
